October 03, 2016 in building this life

Move your body more. Stretch. Breathe into downward dog. Learn to meditate. Practice forgiveness--for yourself, too. For yourself, especially. Pray. When it's hard, when it's uncomfortable, on the subway or walking home or sitting in front of the computer, offer up small and imperfect words--make sure the first two are always thank you. Then write small and imperfect word because in ways that you are not wholly clear to you, they're important, too. Take more risks. Bigger risks. Jump off the cliff. Stop shrinking your life to check some imagined set of boxes. Want more. If the guy doesn't get it, or cannot meet you where you are, move on. Hold fast to hope. Act as if. Wear heavy eyeliner and light sweaters and tight pants and flirt when you want to. Euphoros means the bearer of goodness--figure out how to be that for others. When you're feeling blue, hook into kindness. That ways lies--if not happiness--something just as good, and arguably more meaningful. Keep going.
